Following this summer’s popular webinar about wordless books, this standalone session explores more deeply some of thinking around the genre. We will analyse some of the techniques that authors use to tell stories without words. For instance, we will be looking in detail at different framing devices used in a wide range of wordless books and thinking about how readers interpret them. In this session, Nikki will also introduce some recently published wordless books to feature in the classroom, library or other educational settings and consider ways in which wordless books can promote creative work with readers of all ages
This event is suitable for students, teachers, librarians, booksellers, publishers, home educators and will also be of interest for anyone with an interest in children’s books and reading.
Please note: This session is a standalone event. The content is not the same as webinar Teaching with Wordless Picturebooks and you do not need to have attended that session to register for this event.
