Formerly a teacher (secondary and primary) and university lecturer, with over 35 years’ experience, Nikki is now the Director of Just Imagine, an organisation that seeks to promote reading, writing and oracy through high-quality literature. Nikki continues to work extensively in schools across the UK and internationally and particularly enjoys working in classrooms alongside teachers and children. She is the author of Exploring Children’s Literature now in its fourth edition (Sage, 2019) Co-author of Guiding Readers, winner of the UKLA Academic Book award (UCL, 2016). Nikki is KS2 reading advisor and series consultant for Oxford University Press and content creator for the Oxford School Improvement and Oxford Owl websites and series editor for Treetops. Nikki is Associate Consultant at the University of London, Institute of Education and Honorary Fellow at the University of Winchester
